Canadians were in a giving mood, as the charity album "Songs For Japan" made a strong debut on the Canadian album charts this week.
The collection, which features tracks from U2, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, and goes to help the relief effort in earthquake-ravaged Japan, premiered at No. 3 with 8,000 in sales.
It was one of six new entries on the chart, with French artist Ginette Reno leading the way at No. 1 with "La Musique en Moi" (19,000), while the Strokes’ first album in five years, "Angles" (7,600), angled its way to No. 4.
